About us
who we are
Billericay Food Bank is a charity which helps the local community avoid food poverty and isolation, while preventing environmentally-damaging food waste.
We help about over 100 households each week, young and old, ranging from large families to people living alone.
"A huge thank you to everyone for your kindness at this worrying time. I never thought at 83-years-old I would be in this difficult position but thanks to all your help I am getting by."

2021: The first children’s free birthday cake was delivered.
2023: We moved to a new permanent home in The Hub off Radford Crescent.
2024: Recruited our 100th volunteer and delivered our 200th children’s birthday cake.
2025: Launched our Steet Collector Network.

"Yesterday was my last visit to the food bank. Last year was the worst year and I was at rock bottom with absolutely nothing. Now I've finally been able to return to work and it's the best feeling to be able to provide for my kids again myself. Thank you for all your support and kindness that has helped me get back on my feet."

our values
The food bank is run for the community, by the community. We offer food and support without judgement, whether someone requires help once or on multiple occasions. We strive to prevent loneliness and isolation and help establish self-worth and dignity.
Our mission is to move people out of poverty through not only food, but other support too, by delivering additional services to help bring people out of the cycle of poverty.
how you can help
We are incredibly grateful to all those who support the Food Bank financially and with their time – the town of Billericay is better for it. We are supported by all the churches in the town, our local councils, voluntary organisations, businesses and members of the general public from across the town. More than 100 volunteers give their time, enthusiasm and skills to make everything work smoothly and consistently.

"What has surprised me most is I get more from volunteering than I could ever give back and after 40 years living in Billericay, I have come to realise it is not only a lovely town but a truly caring community."
